Agua Viva Water Project

In the community of Agua Viva, Guatemala, 101 families now have easy access to fresh, clean water.

About the Community

Six hundred and six people live in Agua Viva, Guatemala. The community is located in the municipality of Chichicastenango and the department of Quiché, about sixty-five miles from the capital city. The community has cooler weather as it is situated in a higher part of the country. They grow corn, beans, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, and broccoli. These crops provide a consistent daily food source for the families living there. Their houses are adobe with mud-tiled roofs or block with zinc-sheeted roofs.

Building Their Water Project

The ASUVI team began construction on the Agua Viva water project in late summer 2022. They wrapped up construction at the end of that October.
